Chutes & Ladders is part of my “Sightings” series. This series was motivated by a desire to closely observe my own painting processes and methods.  These works function as a “field guide”, documenting various strategies of arriving at a painting.  However, unlike a “field guide” that relies strictly on observations seen in the concrete world, my observations about how to put paint down are sourced from both external and interior sources.  In other words, my painting methods and strategies are both intentional and highly intuitive.
