Shelter is part of my “Sightings” series. This series was motivated by a desire to closely observe my own painting processes and methods.  These works function as a “field guide”, documenting various strategies of arriving at a painting.  In other words, my painting methods and strategies are both intentional and highly intuitive. This painting layers collaged elements of a mapped print with translucent fields of acrylic paint and opague plaster.
